DECEMBER Commedia CLASS:
After a monologue presentation, Laura Rikard gave a summation of her famous Commedia Dell' Arte workshop, stressing the difference in style and movement of the basic Commedia character classes (Innamorati, Zanni ) and a few of the individual character types (Capitano, Dottore, Pedrolino, etc). She also presented some vintage Italian Commedia masks made by Antonio Fava. The company members, when masked and improvising, became remarkably uninhibited. Louis continued the presentation with a discussion of the impact of Commedia characterizations in the worlds of 19th & 20th century opera and theatre. Louis also emphasized the relationship of the Commedia "postures" with Michael Chekhov's "Imaginary Body".

We are meeting in scene-study-ROOM 1209, for this meeting only!
1. We will be casting Kevin Brofsky's SHVESTERS! Please EMAIL US and REQUEST THE SIDES in advance. This will be for the complete play, not just a scene. Cast: 2 sisters from Orthodox Jewish household. One older teen to 20; other slightly older.
